About the Site

Last updated: 10 July 2007, 23:42

Back in the Spring of 2005 when I was 23 years old and living in Texas, I was in need of a change of scenery and figured Italy would be a good start. I sold what few earthly possessions I owned that contained any value, bought a one-way ticket to Bologna, and flew over here in June of the same year.

I found a great place to live in the hills near Reggio Emilia and was settled in by July. I make my living primarily as a web developer but also earn income through various online methods, which allows me to work from home and made the transition much easier.

I met Simona in September of that year while she was working at the tourist booth at a festival, and have been with her ever since. We’re a great match and have a lot of fun travelling around the world together. Finding her has been, by far, the best part of moving over here.

Thanks to the work my Aunt had done years before, I was able to obtain dual citizenship relatively easily this last year. With it I can avoid the endless bureaucracy attached to being an immigrant and can live in either country for as long as I’d like.

The sub-line of this blog describes it perfectly: “Live in Italy, Work from Home.” On this blog, I write about everything from trips to the sea to new online money making tips and tricks to enable anyone to work from home and live where they dream.
